7.260 Notification Matrix for Watch Commanders/Area Lieutenants Flashcards
It is the policy of this department to ensure that the watch commander’s information flow is managed and contains __________, __________ events that may require command level review. This notification guide will assist watch commanders and area lieutenants in filtering non-priority notifications and allow for more thorough monitoring of events which require command attention.

It is the _____________________ responsibility to notify the watch commander of the event number, time of call, details of the call, and any support agencies who may have responded. Additionally, if a sergeant becomes aware of an event that is not listed below but believes the watch commander should be advised, a notification should be made.

WC notification - 401:
- Employee on-duty accidents:
a. On public roadways.
b. Anytime an employee or citizen is being transported to a medical facility.
c. If neither a. nor b. applies, the employee’s immediate supervisor must be advised. - Employee off duty accidents when employee or an employee’s family member is transported to a medical facility.
- All accidents which require Traffic Bureau’s Fatal Detail to respond.
- All accidents that require road closures.

- Involving an employee or an employee’s family
- Those which are determined by the on-scene officer to be suspicious in nature
- Those that occur at a major hotel or to a high-profile citizen

When the amount is in excess of $100,000

All robberies where:
1. Shots are fired.
2. There is sufficient information which indicates it may be part of an ongoing series.
3. The victim is a major hotel or a high-profile citizen.
4. It is a “take over” style.
5. Someone is being transported to a medical facility.
6. In progress.
WC notifications - 413/413A:
After an officer arrives and determines there is a subject with a gun or a knife

Where shots were fired with an immediate notification to the police

Where substantial bodily harm has occurred

After a sergeant responds and determines the missing person is a juvenile and/or may be in danger

- In-custody deaths (LVMPD), not to include those occurring in CCDC or under CCDC control (e.g., suspect was at a hospital).
- Death of employees, immediate family members of employees, former employees.
- On all deaths which are suspicious in nature, as determined by the sergeant.
- Those involving high profile or political figures.

- All officer involved shootings, to include accidental, whether on- or off-duty.
- All incidents when an off-duty employee is involved (including DUI and domestic violence related calls, but not including minor traffic infractions).
- All ongoing vehicular pursuits.
- All felony car stops involving violent crimes.
- When a suspect is transported to a medical facility as a result of an officer’s use of force.
- All perimeters.
- All situations involving high profile individuals.
- All SWAT call-outs (excluding serving of search warrants).
- Outside agency SWAT unit(s) serving a search warrant in our jurisdiction.
- MACTAC activations (excluding drills or training).
- Evacuation of government facilities.
- Any crime involving a member or family member of Executive Staff.
- Any crime series.
