7.1 - How do you communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders?
A
- Understand the background of the audience and familiarity with the topic and tailor communication to their level of expertise.
- Avoid technical terms/jargon and use everyday, easy to understand language.
- Break down information into manageable chunks, explaining concepts step-by-step.
- Use analogies and metaphors comparing technical concepts to familiar and relatable ideas.
- Use visual aids, charts, infographics to illustrate complex ideas and make them more digestible.
- Discuss how the information impacts the stakeholder and how it is in their interest.
- Encourage questions, creating an open environment where they feel comfortable asking questions to help their understanding.
- Summarise key points and provide additional resources to support the information given/to take away.

7.2 - Describe a time when you had to give feedback to a colleague. How did you approach it?
A
Be mindful of the person as this can determine how you approach giving feedback.
- Choose the right time and environment, prefferably a quiet and private space.
- Frame the feedback around the task, being clear and concise and avoiding personal criticism.
- Be mindful of having a friendly tone and open body language to create a positive atmosphere. Approach the subject calmly and respectfuly, showing empathy and respect.
- Be supportive and give positive reinforcement while being constructive and offering suggestions for improvement.
