6. Adaptability Flashcards
6.1 - How do you prioritize tasks when facing tight deadlines?
Remain calm…
- Identify critical tasks that are essential for meeting deadlines of the project. Focusing on tasks critical to system safety, functionality or regulatory compliance.
- Identify the tasks that are dependant on the foundation of others that enable subsequent work.
- Divide larger commissioning activities into smaller, manageable steps to allow the tracking of progress.
- Allocate resources efficiently ensuring correct tools are allocated to tasks at hand and team members are allocated based on their strengths.
- Continuously monitor progress to ensure you are on track.
6.2 - Tell me about a time when you had to adjust to a significant change on a project. How did you manage it?
I haven’t a direct example of adjusting to a significant change on a project, however, I can give an example on how I adapt to a last minute change of leadership.
During a rotation in Rotterdam on the prototype turbine all technicians arrived at site where I was asked to be AT/lead technician on the morning of work. Having bear minimum knowledge of the turbine and a different procedure for transferring control and isolating, I had to quickly adjust and lead the team throughout the task.
