63 Flashcards
Ventral view of MO
what do you see
sulcus lat ventr
fissura mediana
olive - vagus group leave
VENTRAL
fissura mediana with crossing fibers
decussatio pyramidum, here we also see the tractus pyramidis btw the fissura and the sulcus
VENTRAl
which 3 nerves do we see exiting the MO from the border btw pons and MO
lat->med
- VIII vestibulocochlearis
- VII facial
- VI abducens
DORSAL
connections of the rhomboid fossa
caud to the canalis centralis with the obex at opening
rostr ve have the aquaduct leading to the IIIrd ventricle
diencephalon
DORSAL
what do we see at floor of rhomboid fossa
sulcus medianus and sulcus limitans on either side - caud these lead to fovea caudalis laterally, and rostr to fovea rostralis rostrally
DORSAL
the two sulci rostr and caud after the end of the sulcus limitans we find
rostral
the tuberculum faciale dorsale is found(ventral too on ventral aspect)
caud
the trigonum n. hypoglossi and trigonum n. vagi - two each on either side of the sulcus medianus
DORSAL
what is found laterally in the fossa rhomboidea
area vestibuli with a lateral recess, and the 4 (rostral, caudal, medial and lateral) nuclei of the vestibularis are found) VIII
DORSAL
rostral, lateral to the border of the 4th ventricle/outside the rhomboid fossa
the peduncles of each cerebellar hemispheres are found
pedunculi cerebellaris caud/rostr/medius
LATERAL
what structures do we see dorsally
caud to the colliculi we see velum medullare rostrale and then the caudal one along lat border of fossa
LATERAL
the roof of the medulla oblongata
from the 4th ventricle we have 3 openings to the roof:
2apertura lat ventriculi quarti
1apertura mediana ventriculi quarti
they lead to the plexus on the roof: plexus choroideus ventriculi IV
the rhomboencephalon is composed of
hindbrain!
myelencephalon = MO metencephalon = pons + cerebellum
the 3 lobes of cerebellum
2 large hemispheres
- outer gray matter, inner white matter
- branched like a tree, called arbor vitae
- 10 lobes per “tree”
pons
pons and MO have grey matter inside and white outside
oval shape with sulcus basilaris for the basilar artery
Medulla oblongata
hollow –> IVth ventricle
pons and MO have grey matter inside and white outside
