Who is St Peter and what role did he play in the early Christian Church?
St. Peter, originally a fisherman, became a well-known leader in the early Christian Church. He was chosen by Jesus as the Rock on which the Church would be built and served as its leader after Jesus’ ascension.
How did St. Peter demonstrate his leadership in the early Church?
With honesty and decisiveness, making important decisions for the Church and performing miracles such as curing the lame beggar.
What was St. Peter’s fate, and how did he respond to it?
St. Peter was crucified upside-down at his own request, considering himself unworthy to die in the same way as Jesus.
Where can relics of St. Peter be found today?
St. Peter’s Basilica, where he was buried on Vatican Hill.
