A
People’s lives under Henry VII were dictated and focused on the church and people were very religious.

What were the key ideas of Humanism?
A
- Wanted to rediscover the true original meanings from Greek and Latin texts,
- Did support Catholicism but wanted to give people freewill and they wanted to purify religious texts to get rid of catholic influence to give power to the people
- Some humanists were in high positions in Oxford University

How did education develop under Henry VII?
A
- 53 grammar schools were founded during his reign to educate more people
- Primarily school was for those that could afford it and throughout his reign more humanistic approaches to teaching were taken instead of just using Latin
- Cambridge university benefitted during his reign because of the generosity of Lady Margaret Beuford (Henry’s mum) who founded collages across the university
