Q

How did rebellions show social change under Henry VIII?

A

At this time people were angry due to the amicable grant to fund foreign wars, 4000 people rebelled in Essex

The 2 main rebellions were the Lincolnshire rising and pilgrimage of grace:
- Caused by economic grievances. Angered due to the death of Catherine of Aragon and Charles Brandon being sent to govern
- Both rebellions were easily dealt with but were eye opening for Henry as he ignored the warning signs.
