Q
What was the main features of Trade and industry under Henry VII?
A
- Cloth trade responsible for 90% of English exports
- This increased rural employment spreading wealth across the countryside
- England remained reliant as other industries remained small in comparison to continental competitors. But England still produced necessities for life.
- Trade at this time was inconsistent as henry was interested in maximising revenue but would sacrifice this for security of his dynasty as seen in the trade embargo with burgundy.
