  • radical protestant and educated by archbishop Cranmer, he received the crown in a bad position after the most aggressive monarch is history who had left the crown in an awkward position giving people motives against the crown, alongside this inexperienced he was destined to fail

  • In Henry VIII’s will he wanted a council to rule called the regency council, they renamed themselves and made Edward the Lord Protector.

How did John Dudley (Duke of Northumberland) come to power?

A

During Seymour’s rule he faced rebellions due to his failure to carry out policy (Kett’s and Prayer Book) he was only saved due to Dudley’s support and so Dudley received support from the council to replace Seymour.
