Shifting Agriculture
a system of agriculture that preserves soil fertility by rotating the land used to farm, after crops are grown the land is let to grow back on its own
Food Security
the state of having reliable access to a stable source of healthy affordable food
Intensive Farming
farming that makes use of large amount of fertilizer and machinery - requires large labor and capital inputs
Extensive Farming
form of farming that will make use of relatively low inputs of capital and labor in relation to the land that is being used for farming
Subsistence Farming
the form of farming where the farmer is aiming to produce and rely on his own food production for his and his families meals
Commercial Farming
the act of producing food on a massive scale to be able to feed many others
Arable Farms
these farms grow crops
Pastoral Farms
these farms raise animals and use them for meet or other purposes (wool, milk, eggs)
