What is “Job/ Specialized production”?
Producing one off item specially designed for each customer
What is “Batch production”?
Producing a limited number of identical products - each tiem in the batch passes through one stage of production before passing on to the next stage
What is “Flow production”?
Producing items in a continually moving production line - also known as line production. This can be continuous 24 hours a day.
What is “Mass production”?
Producing large quantities of a standardised product
What is “Mass cutomization”?
The use of flexible computer-aided production system to produce items to meet individual customers’ requirement at mass production cost levels
What is “Cell manufacturing/ production”?
A lean method of producing similar products using cells, or groups of team members, to facilitate operations by eliminating setup time between operations
