4B operant conditioning Flashcards
operant conditioning:
learning process that involves an antecedent, behaviour and consequence.
antecedent
stimulus of event that precedes and often elicits a particular behaviour
behaviour
voluntary action that occurs in the presence of the antecedent
consequence
the outcome of the behaviour, determines the likelihood of the behaviour occurring again
positive reinforcement
the addition of desirable stimulus that increases the likelihood of behaviour occurring again
negative reinforcement
removal of undesirable stimulus that increases the likelihood of behaviour reoccurring.
positive punishment
that addition of undesirable stimulus that decreases the likelihood of behaviour to reoccur
negative punishment
removal of desirable stimulus, decreases the likelihood of behaviour reoccurring.
similarities vs difference between CC and OP
similarities:
- both behaviour approach to learning
- both 3 phase model
differences:
- classical condition includes an involuntary behaviours
- learners are attive and needs a required signature
