- more money to go into services etc because local authorities don’t have to spend as much on those in poverty

- higher employment in full-time / permanent roles means greater economic opportunities
- more spending power due to disposable income

- reduced inequalities
- improved IMD data
- demographic changes
How does health and life expectancy indicate success of regeneration
Regeneration improves health
- new facilities eg gyms
- better services eg GPs
- improved living environment improves well
- safer working environments (less factories etc)

- increased life expectancy
- reduction in infant morality
How do demographics indicate success of regeneration
- more economic opportunites attracts more people (higher population)
- increases number of younger, working age people
How does access indicate success of regeneration
- more public transport services / pedestrianised areas / cycle tracks encourage more customers using services and more people with mobility disabilities to use services
- improved access to affordable housing leads to a decrease in the number of people receiving benefits / homeless
How does education indicate success of regeneration
- more people with higher level education
- more qualified and highly skilled people
How does deprivation indicate success of regeneration
- analysing IMD data shows difference in deprivation
- eg crime
- eg environmental quality
How does inequality indicate success of regeneration
- some areas may have greater inequality due to regeneration as the goal isn’t to benefit them
