Ecology:
The study of how organisms interact with each other and with their enviroment
Species:
A group of individual that interbreed and produce fertile offspring
Population:
Members of a species that live in the same area
Community:
All of the populations in a particular are combined
Ecosystem:
Includes all living and nonliving things in a given area
Biosphere:
All parts of Earth that host life including all of its organisms and environments
Biotic Factors:
Parts of an ecosystem that were living or are living
Abiotic Factors:
Parts of an ecosystem that were never alive
ie - rocks, temp., wind, ph, cellular broken organism
Habitat:
The specific environment in which an organism lives consists of biotic and abiotic factors
Resource:
Anything an organism needs
ie - nutrients, shelter, breeding sites, mates
