What are papers and boards?

A

Are compliant materials meaning that they are suitable for scoring, cutting and folding to produce items e.g packaging

What is the difference between a paper and a board?

A

Paper is anything less than 200gsm (grams per square metre) and boards are always greater than 200 gsm

What makes corrugated card suitable for a take-away food container such as pizza box (6)

A
  • It is compliant and easy to cut and fold to a box shape using a die cutter
  • It is a food safe material - the pizza will not be contaminated by the corrugated card
  • It is an insulating material due to the air pockets within the corrugations, which will help to keep the pizza warm
  • It is a Lightweight material which makes it easy to carry on a delivery bike
  • Should not contribute to landfill as its single use and recyclable
  • It is biodegradable no contribution to landfill
