1.) First reading: Where Bill C-31, dental care for children under 12; the bill is printed and read in the Chamber where it is introduced.

2.) Second reading: introducing the chamber and they are going to debate about it. They are going to vote in this chamber
What is the third step for health policies to translate into laws?
3.) Committee Stage: Where they examine with more committee members with special meetings (hearings) with people outside of the house of common (stakeholders, communities, any members of the communities) can make changes to the amendments
What is the fourth step for health policies to translate into laws?
4.) Report stage: the committee reports the bill back to the Chamber with any amendments. All parliamentarians can debate it. (reports on it and sends back with those changes)
What is the fifth step for health policies to translate into laws?
5.) Third readings: more debate, vote on it and passes reading which goes to other chambers.
What is the sixth step for health policies to translate into laws?
6.) The royal assent: once both the Senate and the House of Commons have passed the bill in exactly the same wording, it is given to the Governor General for Royal Assent (final approval) to become a law
