  1. Equipment group - 1-3 characters, followed by a dash
  2. Specific component, 1-4 characters followed by a slash
  3. Version of the component, 1-3 characters, followed by dash
  4. Date - 1-9 for Jan-Sep, A-C for Oct-Dec. Number is the last digit of the year
