-more people became eligible too migrate and settle in the UK
-members of diasporas from all over the world settled in the UK, bringing their culture here
what has caused tensions in the UK?
multiculturalism and migration has caused more tensions due to increasing economic and social pressure, + illegal immigration
describe the trend of Birmingham’s ethnic composition
-migrants cluster in city centres for easily accessible jobs, e.g. retail services, bus drivers etc
-those seeking higher education ie chinese, indian etc come to Universities in the centre

e.g. UKIP (independence party)- We are the party of the patriotic, working class and believe Christianity should be put back into the heart of government and that our culture should come first.
