3.3 Study Guide Flashcards
Trophic Levels
Trophic Levels are the way the energy moves up the food chain and show what a animal feeds on, like P for producer, 1 for primary, 2 for secondary, 3 for Tertiary, and 4 for Quaternary.
Autotroph vs. Heterotroph
Autotrophs are usually plants and make their own food. Heterotrophs are animals who have to eat to get nutrients.
Herbivore vs. Omnivore vs. Carnivore vs. Detritivore
Herbivores only eat plants
Omnivores eat plants and animals
Carnivores only eat meat
Detrivores eat decaying matter
Describe differences between food web and trophic cascade diagrams
A food web shows how energy gets passed, while a cascade shows a few organisms and show how they impact each other directly and indirectly
Identify trophic levels of organisms in a food web
P= Producer
1= Primary Consumer
2= Secondary Consumer
3= Tetiary consumer
4= Cuantetiary Consumer
