A
Compounds w/ H2O in their structure.
The H2O can usually be removed if heated.

State the process for naming compounds w/ polyatomic ions.
A
Name positive ion, then negative ion, and place the whole ion in brackets if more than one of either poly ion is required.

State the process for naming oxy-acids.
A
If the negative ion ends in “ate”, the acid is called “-ic acid”
If the negative ion ends in “ite”, the acid is called “-ous acid”
