- Focus on engaging and enthusing employees making sure they understand how their work help deliver your vision within the company and values of the organization
- Leads by example while inspiring team to drive change and achieve a common goal.
Differences Between Transactional and Transformational
Transactional
- Rewards staff to motivate them to put in more effort and sets boundaries
- Reactive to present concerns
- Carrot and stick motivation
Transformational
- Motivates staff without the need to reward
- Hands on to create higher expectations with their workers
- Inspires staff to motivate them
- Bonds with team and builds strong relationships
Leadership Levels
- Leadership isn’t just in the top positions, it can be at various levels within an organization
Staff Nurse
- Help to create certain mindsets about a workplace. They are instrumental in practice changes at the point of care and have specific suggestions on how to rectify a workplace
Nurse Managers
- Translate organizational policy into action. Responds to critical issues involving delivery of care to patient such as ethical practice, quality of care and desired outcomes. Critical in gathering staff nurse input and incorporating it into larger decision making processes.
Nurse Executives
- Influences patient care practices when using transformational approach.
