- You can delegate to other RNs, technicians, unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP), Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVN).
- RN’s are still accountable for the supervision needed

What can LPN do

A
  • Gather data and make observations such as breath sounds and pulse ox.
  • Obtain wound cultures, ostomy care, catheter insertion, wound care, blood glucose, EKG’s.
  • They can administer medication
  • LPN’s cannot complete in depth assessments, initiate nursing care plans, or evaluate patients abilities.

  • Provides patients with basic care and assist in everyday activities (such as bathing).

Nursing Assistants
