profit sharing - portion of profits shared amongst staff - share holders may disapprove
bonus - performance related payment on top of salary against targets
fringe benefits - pension scheme, car allowance, private medical care
4 types of non financial rewards
praise - informal or formal - manager recognises workers contributions
award schemes - certificates, vouchers, stars on badge
work environment - if safe comfortable and pleasant staff are motivated
atmosphere - harmony between workers - views respected how managers treat workers
