Begin first aid immediately

Alternate 5 back blows and 5 abdominal (or chest) thrusts.

Coughing
Describe how to administer back blows.
Place arm across person’s chest as they lean forward.
5 firm blows between the shoulder blades.
Describe how to administer abdominal thrusts.
From behind place fist just above belly button.
5 inward and upward quick thrusts
Describe how to give chest thrusts.
Place fist in middle of chest between nipples.
Give 5 thrusts pulling straight back.
If by oneself and choking, what should you do?
If people nearby, move to where you will be noticed.
Else, find an object upon which to perform abdominal thrusts.
Describe choking first aid for a baby.
Sit or kneel with baby face down along forearm.
Deliver the 5 firm back blows.
If necessary turn baby over (support head)
Deliver 5 chest compressions with 2 fingers.
Alternate until dislodged.
If baby becomes unresponsive start CPR with chest compressions. P
