Define extended care.
Non medical care provided to keep a person comfortable while awaiting help to arrive.
The four components of extended care basic care.
Shelter. Fire. Ration food and water.
Four types of shelters

What are the four water purification techniques.
Boil water for 10 minutes. Filter water. Chemical disinfectant like chlorine and Irene. Ultraviolet radiation.
What are the best body positions and movement.
Get the person comfortable encourage them to change it and come uncomfortable and encourage to sit up and walk around.
List four body positions and how each helps.
Sitting easier to breathe. Lying down with knees bent provides abdominal relief. Recovery position assist with drainage. Lying on right side makes it easier to breathe
Suspect pneumonia when.
Persons breathing is slow and shallow.
If you suspect pneumonia do what.
Sit up and take deep breath’s supporting chairs with arms cough forcefully. Repeat every two hours. Massage areas under pressure. And place padding underneath person
Why is good personal hygiene important.
Particularly when preparing food or caring for injuries.
Personal hygiene principles.
Pack out soiled materials.
clean dry and apply fresh bandage is daily. Help injured people maintain good hygiene. And follow tips on lowering the risk of infection. Wear proper PPE and bring on you sanitary materials with you
List some toileting care items.
Incontinence pads. Dry moss in a bag. A bottle. Bedpan or improvise drainage device. Garbage bag with the absorbent layer.
When should bowel movements occur.
Every 2 to 3 days with enough fluid a laxative may be required.
Extended care rest principles.
7-8.5/9 hours of sleep lack of sleep affects judgment memory alertness and communication skills. Encourage injured person to get lots of rest to help with healing.
Extended wound care.
Clean wound and change dressing every 12 hours or if you notice infection. Use clean first and the tools sterilize them. Apply antiseptic cream to the dressing not the wound.
Improvised sterilization techniques.
Boil water for 10 minutes with the tool in it drain water let to cool.
Controlled flame.
Rubbing alcohol.
