Procedure and Guide for an officer in charge at a suspected asbestos incident

A
  • Isolate suspected area and protect civilians and members from possible exposure
  • Call Haz Mat Unit
  • The Haz Mat bulk sampling technician is to take samples (DEP) will provide training to Haz Mat personnel in this procedure
  • Contact DEP and arrange for lab activation
  • Arrange for transport of material to DEP lab
  • Results of tests will indicate future actions. It is expected that test results will be available in a little more than 1 hour
