What does a DC AOR determine?
part of the ship a DCRS is responsible for
Purpose of DCRS
contains equipment, comms, plotting capability near where repair party meets
Purpose of DCUL
rapid means to thoroughly investigate an assigned area, immediately respond to combat or contain material damage within its capability, and request assistance from its parent DCRS if the situation becomes overwhelming.
composed of 12 personnel (01 locker leader, 01 talker/plotter, 01 OSL, 03 investigators, 06 set boundaries/combat damage until primary repair station personnel arrive)
Purpose of DCUPS
on carriers and amphib, respond to difficult to access areas
Function of DC R&A Re-entry Locker (DCREL)
unmanned space easily accessible from weather deck, point of reentry into ship if DCC gets smoked out
Flying squad/RRT personnel
a) 01 fire marshal.
b) 02 rapid responders.
c) 01 electrician.
d) 01 scene leader.
e) 01 team leader.
f) 02 investigators.
g) 03 team members.
When is condition 2 DC called?
if damage affects stability or impacts more than one space
Requirements for condition 2 DC
one DCRS, one BDS, primary boundaries set
Requirements for condition 1 GQ
max degree of readiness, all combat/eng/comms systems activated, every person is assigned to a watch station, installed systems aligned so that vital systems are segregated and capable of operating @ max capacity, zebra is set
Crash and Salvage Team
rescue personnel from burning/crashed aircraft, extinguish aircraft fires, clear wreckage that interferes with flight ops, make repairs to flight/hangar deck, no other duties will be assigned to these personnel while aircraft are onboard
Rescue&Assistance (R&A) Team
rescue personnel from water, assist in ashore distress response, when inport - IET will act as R&A, when underway - DCA will billet R&A as needed, degradation of own ship’s DC readiness should be considered when standing up R&A, detail is event-specific
Inport Emergency Team (IET)
responds to inport casualty, must be capable of responding to HAZMAT spills, flood and fire
How are ship systems aligned when GQ is called?
vital: aligned for max capability, nonvital: secured
How are firefighting methods organized and where can this info be found?
organized by class of fire, can be found in the RPM
How are checklists used during firefighting and where can they be found?
eliminate the requirement to plot while still ensuring actions are done in proper sequence, but you should still plot, can be found in RPM
