Q

Blocking Hypoxia

A

Maintain good physical health, (increased energy usage physical or mental increases risk of hypoxia) avoid hypoxia by flying at lower altitudes or using supplemental oxygen

Q

Overcoming Hyperventilation

A

Breathe into a bag, breathe slowly, or talk aloud

Hyperventilation is a result of overwhelmed signals, calm you or others to lower the effects or get rid of it

Hyperventilation can occur while breathing supplemental oxygen

Q

Spatial Disorientation Defined

A

Spatial Disorientation is caused by sensory inputs being contradictory or confusing to the brain, the brain primarily relies upon sight to determine orientation. Peripheral vision is very strong in relaying body position to your brain.

Q

Overcoming the effects of Spatial Disorientation

A

Believing your instruments and their indications, regardless of how your body feels
