What is the presentation of small pox?

A

Incubation period of 10 or more days
Prodromal high fever that subsides after several days and also has headaches, malaise, pharyngitis, abd pain and vomiting
Rash several days after prodrome that covers face the trunk, and extremities, and includes mucous membranes; mucosal lesions rupture quickly and spread virus, cutaneous lesions are ~4mm and are umbilicated in the center
Lesions eventually confluent and scab over

How do Heparin and Aldosterone interact?

A

Heparin is known to inhibit the actions of Aldosterone and will therefore cause hyperkalemia and metabolic acidosis

A

A

Can eventually lead to smooth muscle hypertrophy and overgrowth of goblet cells that can lead to mucous plugging and fibrosis and irreversible airway remodeling
