financial reward to employees whose work is considered to have reached or gone beyond a certain standard
career advancements
prospect and opportunity of developing career through being promoted or taking on new roles → motivated employees to perform well and acquire new skills and knowledge
investment in training
business pays for training programs to develop the individual employees, or group of employees skills and knowledge to make them more efficient and effective in their role.

involves the manager meeting with the employee and verbally instilling belief (buzz word) and aspiration in the employee and mentoring them to help overcome problems and seize opportunities

punishments for failure to meet or comply with a business objective
