Refugee
Person forced to leave home and their country because of a “well-founded fear of persecution”
Internally displaced person
Someone who has been forced to leave home (reasons similar to a refugee) but within their own country.
Source area
Region from which a group of migrants originates.
Receiving area
Region to which migrants move.
Diaspora
Scattered population with a common origin in a smaller demographic area.
Multiplier effect
Increase in money supply sets off development as this money circulates the economy.
Ethnicity
Identification of individuals with a particular ethnic groups.
Racial assimilation
Gradual process of integration into a mainstream community.
Ethnic villages
Show clear evidence of who resides in an specific area. Due to shops, newspapers, places of worship, etc.
