Q

How can age structures be used to predict population growth?

A

When looking at an age structure diagram, first look at the population percentage between 0-14. Are there a lot of young people? Next, look at the age range between 15-44, when females start reproducing. If the age structure looks like a pyramid, then the population growth is high. If it looks more even, then population growth might be more steady or negative.

A

A country with a higher population growth rate might be less developed. The opposite applies to a developed country, the population growth rate will be close to 0 or even negative.
