22 - DLA Flashcards
Where is GLUT 3 found?
Found in the neurons and the brain
What does GLUT 2 do?
releases all dietary monosaccharides into the portal vein, facilitates glucose uptake from the blood, measures high blood glucose levels.
CFTR
Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane conductance
- is a gated channel with a pore for Cl ions.
- its a special ABC transporter
What does the inner leaflet contain of the plasma membrane?
phosphatidylethanolamine
What does SGLT 1 transport?
glucose and galactose
What does the outer leaflet contain of the plasma membrane?
phosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin
Where is GLUT 4 found?
Fat cells, skeletal muscle and heart
What is passive transport?
High concentration to low concentration
What is primary active transport performed by?
Na/K - ATPase
High affinity transporters for glucose?
GLUT 1,3,4
What does GLUT 5 mainly transport?
Mainly transports dietary fructose.
Low affinity transporters for glucose?
GLUT 2,5
Where is GLUT 1 found?
RBC, blood brain barrier and the kidneys
What does SGLT 2 transport? and where is it found?
transports sodium ions and glucose and it is found in the kidney.
What is primarily found in the outer layer of the plasma membrane?
glycolipids and glycoproteins
