2. Ischaemic Heart Disease Flashcards
Stable Angina
Tachycardia
↑BP
Levine sign
Breathless
Sweating
Nausea
Pain
Treatment of Stable angina
Beta blockers
Ca Channel blockers
GTN
Statins
Stent
STEMI
sudden obstruction of an atheromatous coronary artery
prolonged ischemia (20-30 mins)
MI usually affects LV
Symptoms of STEMI
Breathlessness
Collapse
Nausea and vomiting
Anxiety
Pain
Signs of STEMI
tachycardia/sweating/pallor
bradycardia
hypotension/oliguria/cold extremities
Narrow pulse pressure
Lung crepitations
Treatment of STEMI
Oxygen = to relieve hypoxia
Morphine = Relieves pain and is a venodilator
GTN = Vasodilator
Thrombolytic agents = dissolve clot
Anti-platelet = prevent further clot formation
Treatment of MI
ACE inhibitor
Anticoagulants
Antiarrhythmics
β-blocker
Nitrates
Statin
Supply and Demand
PQRS wave
Where is STEMI commonest and largest in
Subendocardium
