1st KYU Brown Belt
The preparatory stage for Black Belt Level Testing (approx 3 years)
Chung-Mu
This was the given name of the admiral Yi Sun-Sin of the Yi dynasty. He was reputed to have invented the first submarine, as well as the kobuksun, which was an armored battleship. These were both precursors of the modern vessels, but this was done in 1592AD. This pattern ends with a left-hand attack to symbolize the admiral’s regrettable death.

This pattern is over 400 years old and was re-named “Iron Horse” by Gichin Funakoshi.

Cycle Training
This is a method of doing a variety of single sets, without repeating previous
techniques, and advancing the difficulty as the workout progresses.
Circuit Training
This takes a set number of techniques and repeats them over and over again
Reflex Training
This employs having the students attack and then counter, as fast as
possible, for a set period.
Stretch Training
This employs the aspects of static, dynamic, ballistic, and PNF
(Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) in a program.
Strength Training
This allows the student to increase the amount of force that a muscle or
group of muscles can exert.
Isometric Training
– This employs having the student push or pull against an immovable object
to shorten and tighten the muscles used.
Anaerobic and Aerobic Training
These use both endurance and explosive technique to
maximize student conditioning.

Meet resistance with persistence . Meaning: If you want something with all your heart, dont let anything stand in your way.
2nd DAN Black
The student has trained two years as a Black Belt with one as a
student Black Belt and one as an Assistant Instructor.
3rd DAN Black
The student has trained two years as a Second Dan and is now eligible
for Head Instructor Certification. The title of “Sensei” is awarded at this
level.
4th DAN Black
The Sensei has trained three years as a Third Dan (a minimum of 11
years).
5th DAN Black
The Sensei has trained four years as a Fourth Dan. The title “Master” is
awarded at this level.
6th DAN Black
The Master has trained five years as a Fifth Dan.
7th DAN Black
The Master has trained six years as a Sixth Dan (a minimum of 26 years).
8th DAN Black
The Master has trained seven years as a Seventh Dan. The title
“Grandmaster” is awarded at this level.
9th DAN Black
The Grandmaster has trained eight years as an Eighth Dan.
10th DAN Black
This is the final stage which is achieved after nine years as a Ninth Dan.
This rank is awarded after a minimum of 50 years.
