The New Goals
Better than MDGs as they address the root causes of poverty and a style of development that works for everyone. The SDGs are also connected to 3 strategic focus areas of the UN Development Programme

Fight poverty and combat issues hampering human development. The progress on the 8 goals was measured annually, but it was uneven across regions and countries.
Why Was MDG Progress Limited?
Limited overall economic development (poverty reamined)
Unable to participate in globalisation
Wars were reversing progress
Tribal politicals, lack of political consensus and lack of trust meant lack of geo-political relations

Contributed to by major mans from 70+ countries
What Are The New Goals
Go Further - Addressing roots causes of poverty and good governance
Connected - To 3 strategic focus areas on the UN
Unemployment Programme - Sustainable development, democratic, governance and peace building
