where do you see IgA antibodies?
saliva, tears, mucus, breast milk, all mucosal surfaces
where do we see IgE antibodies?
resp tract, GI, lymph nodes, allergic sites
most preventable antibody is
IgG
3 lines of defence
first line is skin/mucus/cilia/hair, second line is macrophages, third line is lymphocytes(WBC)
reexposure
antibodies on mast cells bind to particles of allergens, mast cell memebrane becomes unstable and bursts, histamine and inflammatory mediators are released into the body and symptoms begin
5 pillars of inflammation
1.pain 2. sweellin 3. redness 4. loss of function 5. heat
food intolerance is NOT mediated by______ but still has a ______ release
IgE, but still has a histamine release
atopy
predisposition toward developing certain allergic hypersensitivity (IgE mediated)
atopic triad
asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis
most common 2 allergy symptoms
fatigue and headaches
