A

Refreeze (solidifying the desired change) -> unfreeze (preparing the desired change) -> change (implementing the desired change)

  • A = awareness of the need for change
  • D = desire to support the change
  • K = knowledge of how to change
  • A = ability to demonstrate new skills & behaviours

Describe Kotter’s Model for change management

A
  1. Create a sense of urgency
  2. Create the guiding coalition
  3. Establish vision and strategy
  4. Communicate the change vision
  5. Empowering broad-based action
    - - Remove barriers and obstacles
    - - Optimize environment for success
  6. Generate short term wins
    - - Need to be able to show a benefit early in the process to encourage buy-in and retention

Difference between vision vs. strategy

A
  • Vision = picture of the future as well as the reasoning on why it should be sought after or attained; should be clear and concise
  • Strategy = how the vision will be achieved; has to be realistic and grounded, must agree w/ vision
