- Traffic congestion: takes over 2 hours to cross the city

Food problem: production of food cannot cope with rate of increase in population causing food shortages
* every year food has to be imported - Communication problem: crowds everywhere, people will climb onto the roof of buses and trains to travel causing accidents
- Educational problem: for twenty available spots in schools, there may be two thousand candidates

Health problems: lack of food causes lack of nutrients which can lead to health issues including visual impairment or blindess through cataracts
- 750,000 people above 30 are blind, 6 million suffer from visual difficulties
- Environmetal pollution: latrines made on the banks of rivers and canals pollutes that water that many bath in and use daily
