12 Marker Year 11 Flashcards
1st para
Some people would argue that the modern society does in fact not value the world due to many popular industries that are a significant factor in damaging the environment.
An example of a damaging industry is Fast Fashion which is very familiar the modern society. Fast fashion contributes to landfill problems as well as having a large carbon footprint emitting fossil fuels to ship and transport clothing items and other accessories.
Some would therefore argue that the modern society do not value the world as although humans are aware of the detrimental effects of fats fashion to our world however still continue to use these services which encourage them to keep to their ways.
2nd para
However some Christians would argue people make a conscious effort to make sure they recycle and do not litter. They also try to educate others on the importance of saving the planet.
An example of this is Pope francis who says “we must ensure the environment is cleaner, purer and conserved. We must care for nature so that nature may care for us.” In this quote, pope francis is trying to allow people to understand the urge for change. The imperative ‘must’ forces people to think about how they can make their ways sustainable.
So some Christians would argue that modern society does value our world as they make an effort to try and mae a difference even though it may not be as significant as the damage made to it.
mini conclusion
people are too consumed by the idea of making money swell as buying products so therefore people may never fully value the world as they believe this is a concept of live they cannot live without.
para 3
- On the other hand, some atheists would argue that plastic pollution is proof that modern society does not value the world. Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic waste in the environment which negatively affects all living things and their habitats has become one of the most pressing environmental issues, as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products. Plastic pollution is proof that the modern society does not value our world as plastic pollution can alter habitats and natural processes reducing ecosystems’ ability to adapt to climate change and even though plastic pollution is now impacting the food chain of humans, some would argue no significant attempts to fix this problem has been taken.
