Diet precautions with pregnancy
- Limit shark, swordfish, mackerel, tilefish, tuna for mercury
- Limit soft cheese, raw fish, deli meat, raw milk, smoked seafood for listeriosis

Macronutrients for baby
40-50% CHO, Lipids
10% protein (but very available in breastmilk)
Baby suppplements
VitaminK- 1 shot
Iron- 6mos
Viitamin D- supplement after birth for breastfed infants
Kwashiorkor/Marmasmus
Lack of protein in diet
Kwashiorkor- Edema and muscle wasting
Marasmus- Wasted and thin (just general los of subq fat fro dec. caloric intake)

Feeding

Anorexia
Complications: amenorrhea, bradycardia, abnormal EKG, fatigue, dizziness, hypercholesterolemia
Watch K, Mg, Phosphate when refeeding these patients
Bulimia Nervosa
Complications: laxative dependance, dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities, esophagitis, gastritis, reflux
Protein in athletes
50-150% more protein intake may be needed
*NOT PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS- these can lead to dehydration, weight gain, and are hard on the kidneys
