What is the role of God the farther as creator in Genesis ?
He brings order to chaos. By speaking aloud, God then brings all things into existence, starting with light itself.
Over the six days through the power of his word the earth takes form and is filled with plants and creatures. Everything in creation demonstrates Gods power and purpose.
All that God creates is described as good and once it is complete it is very good
God also names parts of nature, for example ‘god called the dry land “earth” This shows gods authority.
Humans are created in the image of God
What is the role of the spirit in genesis 1 and 2 ?
In genesis 1 the spirit is presented ‘hovering the waters’ This image of the spirit ‘hovering’ this is giving the same idea as I bird sitting over its nest. This is the same way the spirit is preparing to bring life into the world.
When God created Adam he describes how god breathed into nostrils the breath of life. This shows gods unique relationship with humanity
The role of the world in creation in john 1 ?
In john the title given to the son of god is ‘the word’. The word is present with god before the world is created, and the word is God. Through the word life is given to all things and without him here would be no life.
