It was a sacrifice to God that took the punishment for human sin
It was because of his crucifixion that made it possible for Gods and humans relationship was restored
Define resurrection
Jesus’s return from the dead
What does his resurrection represent ?
His power over death
what did the first Christians believe about the resurrection of Jesus ?
It proved that not only that he was truly God and man but also that God had approved of his sacrifice and that it was sufficient to pay the debt of human sin
Why do Christians find hope in the resurrection
They believe that they too will be raised to life after death to share eternity in heaven with Jesus
Define the ascension
Jesus’s return to heaven after the resurrection
How is the resurrection taken symbolically ?
Jesus has success over evil and he lives alongside God and reigns with him
What does Jesus’s resurrection signify ?
The end of his work on earth

What is the belief of Christians on the incarnation , crucifixion, resurrection and ascension ?
Some believe it happened.
However many see the ascension as metaphorical
Christians use of a crucifix in worship allows them to focus on the meaning of the death of Jesus and on his sacrifice and suffering
