Non real time. To conserve processing power.
Explain the difference between applying audiosuite processing as “clip by clip” versus “entire selection”?
Clip by clip analyzes each clip individually. Entire selection applies the same degree of change to all clips selected.
What does the use in playlist button do in in the audiosuite plugin window? Hw can you tell when this option is active?
It controls whether the processed audio replaces audio in the playlist. Highlighted blue when selected.
Suppose you open an existing session to do some additional recording and editing. How could you set the clip list to display only newly recorded and edited clips?
I the clips list pop up menu select include subsequently added clips. A plus sign will show that this option is selected.
What is the difference between removing and deleting a file using the clear command in e clip list?
Deleting deletes the file, remove removes them from the session.
What is the purpose of compacting sound files? When would you not want to compact files?
Saves hard drive space.
If files are referenced in another session.
What is the purpose of the export clip definitions command in the clip list popup menu?
Importing clip subsets into a new session.
When should you use equal power vs equal gain?
Equal power for two different types of material
Equal gain for nearly identical sounds
