29
Q

Algae in marine biomes produce ______ and reduce _____.

A

Answer 1:
Oxygen

Answer 2:
Carbon dioxide

30
Q

In your Biome project, which Biome did you chose and describe its climate. Please use complete sentences and proper grammar.

A

Your Answer:
I chose the marine biome, which has an average temperature in the middle of the Atlantic ocean is 39 degrees; of course, water at the surface is much warmer than further down toward the ocean floor. There is also lots of sunlight at the ocean’s surface, with no sunlight the deeper you travel towards the ocean floor. The water of the marine biome is also salty, and many animals have adapted to this climate.

31
Q

In your Biome project, identify your biome and a plant and an animal from your biome. Give one adaptation of the plant and animal to help it survive in the biome you have chosen. Please use complete sentences and correct grammar.

A

Your Answer:
My biome was the ocean, and my biome had seaweed and sharks. An adaptation of a shark is how it is shaped like a torpedo so it can move faster. An adaptation of seaweed is how it can stick to a piece of driftwood or a rock to anchor itself.

32
Q

Explain how animals adapt to live in the cold salty ocean. Please use complete sentences and correct grammar.

A

Your Answer:
One way animals adapt to the ocean is by having something that air-breathers do not have, such as gills. Gills allow certain water creatures to breathe underwater.
