abdominal GI->portal vein-> metabolism->hepatic vein-> IVC-> right atrium
1) Venous drainage from the stomach, spleen and intestines pass through the liver through portal vein for metabolism
2) Once metabolised collected by the hepatic vein before draining into the IVC for systematic venous return-> right atrium
