6 Ws of postoperative fever
Water, Wind, Walk, Wound, “wawa” and Weird drugs
- water for UTI. Wind for atelectiasis or pneumonia, walk for DVT, wound for sx infection, wawa for breast postpartum, weird drugs causing fever

place test tube to drain; thoracotomy if bleeding doesn’t cease

Consider intubation and posiive pressure ventilation is O2 not adequate
