10 mark - Feedback Flashcards

1
Q

What is positive feedback?

A

Positive (praised following correct movement e.g. A Effective if specific to part of skill coach praising pass for using side of foot A strengthens S-R bond A cognitive performers(confidence) D overused)

Q

What is negative feedback?

A

Negative (Criticism given when movement is incorrect, e.g. coach criticising player for not shooting with laces can be intrinsic/extrinsic A if constructive A Autonomous performers (perfect performance) D Over used with cognitive performers - confidence

Q

What is concurrent feedback?

A

Concurrent Information received during movement. Intrinsic/extrinsic. A continuous slow jerky skills e.g. a gymnast readjusting on a beam /autonomous D Ballistic skills/cognitive performers

Q

What is Terminal feedback?

A

Terminal Information received after movement. A Immediate=fresh in mind for example a coach feeding back to a football team straight after a game A ballistic skills / open loop eD too long - forget

Q

What is intrinsic feedback?

A

Intrinsic sensory feedback such as kinasthesis e.g. a gymnast readjusting during a handstandA autonomous learners (can match perceptual/memory trace D cognitive/associative – do not have a memory trace of skill so don’t know what skill should feel like perceptual trace)

Q

What is extrinsic feedback?

A

Extrinsic (external sources such as coach . e.g. a coach telling a netballer they used good passing technique A Cognitive performers Don’t know what skill feels like/kinastheseis D can become reliant on EX fback - prevents kinasthesis being developed)

Q

What is knowledge of results?

A

Knowledge of results (outcome of performance. A Essential in cognitive phase of learning e.g. a young footballer seeing there penalty shot went into the goal A can lead to development of KOP seeing ball going in goal will develop effective shooting technique)

Q

What is knowledge of performance?

A

Knowledge of Performance (information on the technical quality of the skill (kinasthesis/external). A Mainly used by autonomous performers e.g. a striker knowing they scored because they use there laces
