What is hypertrophy?
A
Increased size of a muscle when muscles are working against a resistance (e.g. lifting weights).

What happens to the muscles during hypertrophy?
A
They become slightly damaged during the workout, this damage is referred to as “micro-tears”. After recovery muscle fibers are slightly stronger/bigger
