What was the Kristallnacht?
A
The Kristallnacht was a pogrom and happened in the year 1939. It is where around 100 Jews were killed and 20,000 sent to concentration parks.

What were the consequences of the Munich Putsch?
A
- Hitler writes Mein Kampf, very influential book in the long-term (used to spread ideology when he was ruling).
- Hitler had a short sentence even though treason would get you a life sentence. This is because the judges were sympathetic.
- 16 Nazis were killed and used as Martyrs.
- Hitler failed to overthrow German Governments.
- Nazis focussed on gaining power through politics instead of revolution. (38% vote in 1932)
- Nazi party made illegal which made it difficult for them to gain power as they were given a bad reputation.

What were the consequences of Kristallnacht?
A
- The life of German Jews was difficult as jews were very isolated from society.
- The Jews had to pay a collective fine which left them feeling humiliated.
- Ordinary Germans stayed as bystanders (didn’t help or intervene) which led to the Nazi thinking the ordinary germans supported the persecution making them increase the persecution.
